My Research Background

I’ve been researching food and dining for around 7 years, including a year doing my masters, and a three year PhD. Here are my full credentials.

PhD (2006-2009): University of Liverpool (first 2 years University of York – then my supervisor moved and I followed him). Fully funded by the AHRC. Thesis title: ‘Man is a dining animal’: the archaeology of the English at table, c.1750-1900’. Successfully examined January 2010.

MA Historical Archaeology (2003-2004): University of York. Dissertation title: ‘The archaeology of food and dining, c.1750-1850. Awarded with distinction.

BA(hons) Modern History (1997-2000): St Hugh’s College, University of Oxford. 2:1
