I’ve been researching food and dining for around 7 years.

Here are my full credentials.

PhD

University of York, 2006-8, University of Liverpool 2008-9. Thesis submitted September 2009, viva January 2010.
Thesis title: ‘Man is a dining animal’: the archaeology of the English at table, c.1750-1900’.
Fully funded by the AHRC.

MA in Historical Archaeology

University of York, 2003-4. Degree awarded September 2004.
Dissertation title: ‘The archaeology of food and dining, c.1750-1850.
Taught modules on British and Colonial domestic life, buildings and gravemarkers, plus audiences for interpretation.
Awarded with distinction.

BA(hons) in Modern History

St Hugh’s College, University of Oxford, 1997-2000.
Courses taken included British and European history, c.1600-1900, the American and French Revolutions, and English Architecture, 1660-1720.
Class awarded: 2:1

Educated at secondary level at Norwich High School and the British School of Paris.
